You either like what you’ve seen so far, or you’re impatient and skipped to this link. Either way, we’re glad you found your way here, and hope you find everything you need to know. If this doesn’t do the trick, drop us a line and we’ll be sure to get back to you as quickly as gas prices rise in summer months. (Does that thought convince you to hop back on the old bike?)

Q: Wait...why should I do this?
Q: Is this going to be a big timesuck? Getting healthy is great and all, but I have a life.
Q: What's this going to cost me?
Q: Wait a second, you're asking me to spend time out of work with my coworkers. Are you insane? The last thing I want to do is spend after-school hours with these people.
Q: Crap! I missed the deadline! Can I still sign up?
Q: Oops. I didn’t sign up, but I went to a Walk the Talk event. Now what?
Q: So, what's the goal of Walk the Talk?
Q: OK, so who else is involved?
Q: Can my friends and family attend Walk the Talk events, too?
Q: So, what’s the long-term growth for this program?
Q: I've got more questions before I sign on the dotted line. Who can I contact?
Q: Hey, this program you’ve put together looks pretty nifty. Is 10SW willing to roll out similar programs to other communities?

Q: Wait...why should I do this?
A: We Walk the Talkers believe that being healthy doesn't have to be lame. By teaming up with friends and colleagues to learn more about healthy living, you'll have fun and get smart about wellness. We have a big dose of humor infused into everything we do and believe that by not taking anything too seriously - and by having fun promoting a healthy lifestyle - we can provide a rewarding, worthwhile experience for all of our members.

Q: Is this going to be a big timesuck? Getting healthy is great and all, but I have a life.
A: Walk the Talk sucks as much as you want it to! We've got events planned each day for all five weeks of the program, and how frequently you participate is completely up to you. There's no pressure to join us and no penalty if you don't; one of our main goals is to provide a fun experience for our members, so we promise this won't feel like work.

Q: What's this going to cost me?
A: Our membership fee is $15. That covers your Walk the Talk t-shirt as well as programming fees for everything we'll be offering during the program. Not bad for all the free stuff you'll get to do, huh?

Q: Wait a second, you're asking me to spend time out of work with my coworkers. Are you insane? The last thing I want to do is spend after-school hours with these people.
A: Hey, listen! We're assuming that maybe you like at least a few of those clowns. But what's more is that there are scads of other health and benefits companies from around Chicago who are also participating in Walk the Talk. You'll get to spend time with your friends and peers from other companies, and maybe even - gasp - get a little networking in there, too.

Q: Crap! I missed the deadline! Can I still sign up?
A: Of course! We are of ‘the more the merrier’ mindset. Make sure to request a registration form and pay your $15 membership fee (this will not be pro-rated) and start enjoying what Walk the Talk has to offer!

Q: Oops. I didn’t sign up, but I went to a Walk the Talk event. Now what?
A: Hm. Sometimes we don’t color within the lines either. But, you most likely signed in to the event you attended, and we hope you had fun! In fact, if you did sign in and weren’t a paid member, you most likely will have already (or will soon receive) an e-mail from us. It’s totally okay and we are glad you attended our event, but next time, we’ll need to get some information from you and hope you’ll be willing to make a $15 donation to cover your membership fee. From there, you can keep coming back to our programs for the Summer ’08 Challenge, guilt free.

Q: So, what's the goal of Walk the Talk?
A: Just like Justin Timberlake brought 'Sexy Back,' Walk the Talk is bringing 'wellness' back. I mean, really, the word itself is used and abused within our industry. Our goal is to build community through healthy initiatives with a philanthropic incentive. Here's the cool thing: as you're having fun through our programs, your employer is pledging $5 every time you show up to a Walk the Talk event...every...time! That money will collect in a 'pot' with all of the other participating employers, and at the end of the Summer '08 Challenge (five-weeks), 80% of the money will be donated to the National MS Society and 20% to After School Matters. Pretty neat, huh? Check out our website to learn more!

Q: OK, so who else is involved?
A: Leading health and benefits companies in Chicago have signed on to encourage their employees to Walk the Talk, including Mercer, Mesirow Financial, Gallagher Lockton, Aetna, BlueCross BlueShield of Illinois, United Healthcare and CIGNA.

Q: Can my friends and family attend Walk the Talk events, too?
A: Yep! At each Walk the Talk event, there will be sign-in sheets to document attendance (which is how the philanthropic funds grow throughout the five-week challenge). Spouses can sign-in under your company name, but there are different 'rules' for everyone else. Listen up! Have your entourage sign-in and, upon their first Walk the Talk event, they'll pay the $15 registration fee and the $5 donation. After that, each event that they attend will only cost them $5.

Q: So, what’s the long-term growth for this program?
A: Well, this is one of our most exciting challenges to which those in Walk the Talk are dedicated! Since 10SW is a budding 501c(3) in Chicago, we are looking to expand within both private and public sectors to build community initiatives similar to this Walk the Talk, but are open to further growth (i.e. – community round tables, wellness activities to foster education on how to lead and maintain health lifestyles at work, at school and at play). But, with the infrastructure of two individuals from each participating employer, we’re certain this is a program that will only build a greater sense of community within the healthcare industry from the launch of the inaugural five-week Summer ’08 Wellness Challenge.
